Oblivion Eastereggs

Post by McTasty »

Hey,

I just can´t wait for Skyrim, I have played through Oblivion about 10 times now and are pretty bored by now... So is there some places that you know of that is kinda hard to find or similar things? Like the mutant critters or the suicidal trolls?

Well a google search is all you need but there is another. In Morrowind, if you went to Solstheim and did the quests there, you would eventually run into the Udyrfrykte: a legendary beast thought to only exist in tales to scare children. There is also one in Oblivion, if you go far north, it's near the highest peak in the game, pretty close actually. It will attack you on sight and should prove to be a tough battle, considering you can't see it. The thing is, Bethesda didn't create a whole new model just for the sake of this thing, in fact it's pretty obvious it's just a troll with 100% chameleon and the name of "The Udyrfrykte Matron" slapped on it. However, after you kill the invisible beast and search it's loot you'll find the remains of (and I'm not 100% on this) the late wife of the most recent Cheiften of Thrisk Hall. And then there's uber rat, giant mudcrab, suicide bridge troll but I'm sure you've heard them already.

Also quick note: The Udyrfrykte is a refrence to Grendel from bewowolf and The Udyrfrykte Matron is a reference to Grendel's mother, as Grendel attacked the Mead Hall in beowolf as The Udyrfrykte attacked the on in Solstheim.
We're all going to die some day, I intend to deserve it.
