Wrong way round..help!

Post by whitelder »

I have the key to the cemetery, have cleared Thaler not Declan Leuvaarden and need to go and kill Ramsmeat (wont give te the dialogue at night, will try during the day, Kalkstein will no longer talk to me...if I bash through the wall and find Raymond Maarloeves body does that mean that I will not receive the last Sephirah for the Mage Tower? Since by finding his body it clears everyone how do I get the last Sephirah for the Mage Tower? and how do I arrange to kill Azar Javed or The Professor there..how do I go about this?

Welcome to the GameBanshee!

Next time, please put SPOILER in the title, as your question is giving out some major spoilers about that specific quest.

Now, for your question, IIRC you don't have to kill Ramsmeat if you have already visited the cemetery and got the quest update from there. If my memory serves me correctly just talking to the Raymond again (you may have to leave the building and enter it again or spend few hours before engaging the dialogue again) and tell him you killed Ramsmeat.

What does the quest logs tell you to do? I remember there was some vague mention in the quest log about either killing Ramsmeat of pretending that you did. This option of course is only available if you know the true identity of Raymond, which you should if you visited the cemetery and made the discovery there.

Woops...sorry didnt mean to spoil, just thought that since this is a 2007 game all would have played it by now... anyway it says I need to kill him and then go tell raymond, havent gone to the cemetery yet, dont wanna stuff it up again...will the raymond give me the last Sephirah if I bash through the wall and find true raymonds body? I really dont wanna have to start from the beginning...

Well you are playing it for the first time so... ;)

As for your concern...if you find Raymond's body in the Cemetery you can still get the last sephirot from "Raymond." Once you get your quest update from viewing the body your journal should spell out what's going on.

OK! so that worked, guessing im close to the end of chapter two...heading to the monoliths now, would it be worth my while investing in a ribbon that keeps away drowners? cant afford the armor upgrade yet, oh and I made the potion with the golems heart, what does it do exactly?

Don't get a ribbon, it's more of an annoyance than anything else. (You'll have to chase after Drowners, and you can't enter caves/houses with enemies near, but you run up to them, they'll run away...)
Get the armour, it's worthwhile.
The Potion unlocks a Mutagen, it's effect is in your Character Screen. IIRC, it increases Sign damage during Night?

You're welcome. Some hints: do all sidequests, loot everything, sell your secundary weapons. You'll never use them, and this way, you make room for new secundary weapons to be sold. You can also buy the armour in Chapter III.

It's the only armour upgrade for a looooong while. The next one is a specific questline and won't be completed pretty late in the game. It's some kind of light chainmail, yes.

Have you been keeping up on the dice poker? lots of money to be made there. Likewise for the fistfighting, though not as much. Bulletin board quests are usually only a minority of the quests after Chapter 1, so try asking around the pub in the early evening and see if you can't snag a couple more jobs.

What's your build? Which gear do you have? Are you in the vault itself, or past it?
Using the Steel Group Style and stringing comboes together should work decently. An occasional Aard to create space is wise. The Steel Strong Style charge-up is a good way to deal with shield-wielding enemies.

No idea about the build, have basic armor, silver and witcher steel swords.Steel has a green up arrow rune on it, I have no vitality over time potions but four instant vitality potions, I have to pause every time I take them though, cant swing and shift/move arrow to right click at the same time. I dont actually know how to charge the styles up, or even the signs for that matter, bit complicated for me, im the kind of person that does brute strength not magic *shrug*

Sounds more like "not reading the how-to" instead of brute strength. :p
Anyway, your build is how you divided your talents. That answer can help us offer tactics.
You charge up Styles (Styles are for use with sword, i.e. "Brute strength") by keeping the left mousebutton pressed and then releasing it. You need to have lvl 4 in a particular style.
Signs are always useful, even if you haven't focused in them. (Which I recommend anyway.) Just select a Sign and right click when facing the enemy.
General tip: The healing over time and endurance over time potions are two of the best out there. Stock up on them.

I play hack and slash games, this is the first game I own that has combinations of moves involved to fight somebody. In the other games its one click, one hit, this one is multiple hits one click. This is a first kind of encounter for me, I am not very quick to pick things up and when it comes to skills and choosing which ones for the character I am playing I would have no idea at all! I'm sorry i'm not a big gamer like you are, thank you for making me feel stupid!
