Hunted - The Demon's Forge

Could someone help me solve a problem with this game?
I am in the Prologue right after falling in the pit with all the skeletons and defeating them. In the room is a statue that needs to be pushed out of the way. I have been trying (several times) to move that darn statue but I am not getting anywhere. I really would like to explore that hidden area. Is there something I am missing in order to do this? I am at full health, I push E then SPACE but all I get is grunts from Caddoc.
I appreciate any help you guys could give me.
