Sorcerer problem

Post by emb3r »

So after all this time I figured what the hell, play baldur's gate again! And I do, everything is swell 'till the final portion of the beginning dungeon. At that point, for some strange reason, my sorcerer decides that when he casts any spell that's target is anything other than himself( That be a spell that targets an enemy/friend or an AOE spell like Fireball or Web ) he needs to stand right on top of the target. For touch spells that's not at all a problem( as, obviously that's what he'd need to do ) but when I do things like casting fireball into a room full of baddies after opening the door, he still decides that he needs to run to where I clicked and start casting. Naturally, this is a problem.

Any tips?

Little extra info -

I've got the game patched to the latest version
I've downloaded various community bug fixes ( This problem occured before I did this )
My main character is the only spellcaster I have this problem for.

- Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S. Holy crap! I had no idea that BG forums were still so active!

No, he hasn't. The only status that he has on him is "Shielded" from when I cast shield a half-moment before I saved the game. I've tried unequipping everything, but still nothing. I really don't want to spend the hour it takes to get through the beginning again.
