I am not really a bg1 guy, only finished it once or twice I hardly remember my char and team. I am experienced in bg2 though. I installed bg tutu now and thinking about a char and team can't really decide who to create to have fun.
Note that later I am planning to solo bg2 on insane with f/m/c so I don't want any char doing similar things in bg1.
I am also against using half-orc and classes from bg2, seems like cheating to me. (enemies were not designed to deal with half-orc barbarian or shapeshifter).
Was thinking about sth like this
Fighter/Thief halfling (++long bow,++long sword) (halfling due to biggest thief skills I want to pick pockets a lot)
Kagain
Viconia
Edwin
or
Fighter/Cleric dwarf or gnome (++hammer, ++sword and shield)
Kagain
Montaron (melee at first, later I would add ++ in long bow)
Edwin
Evil team is a must and I am going to do a lot of bad things to good people
I thought about adding shar-tel if its too hard.
I would go for the first option but I don't really want viconia and she is the only evil cleric, not sure if I can do it without one.
What are your thoughts?
BG on insane with team, need ideas

In all honesty, any team would do - especially if you have thieves, since they are, in my opinion, the easiest way to conquering the final battle - especially with Boots of Speed/Haste as well as Potions of Invisibility. I feel that the fighters end up being kind of useless here, and that thieves and mages are the way to go.

For an evil team, I would strongly recommend Tiax, particularly if you have the mod that lets you have him as soon as you get to Beregost. His summon ghast is SO powerful. Very useful against basilisks in particular. He is also a fun character to have in your party! He definitely has character, though that might be due to the BG1 NPC project which makes all the characters more interesting.

Well I ended up with a solo run with fighter/cleric half-elf on insane, started today, I am in cloakwood now 6/6 lvl no bigger problems so far.
I didn't take half-orc and I am only using bg1 weapon skills (that means no 2 weapon style, sword and shield etc.), would be too easy.
I wonder where will the real problems start.
I have ++ hammer ++flail and ++ mace and I am using basillus hammer atm, is there any better cleric weapon in bg?
