day 4 dragon eye level 4

I cannot get to Day 4. I have killed the Beholder 5 times and all of his minions. I go through the "portal" end up at level 3 come back and everything is the same. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Is this a glitch? Also when I talk to Archon and have him take me to the fields of of slaughter, where the Beholder was the screen goes black.HELP.
