Help! My consular is useless!
Help! My consular is useless!
I have a level 25 sentinel/sith lord (15/10 split) on Korriban, and none of my force powers seem to be working. My Wis+Cha is 11, so the DC for most of my powers is (level + Wis + Cha modifiers + 5), which is 41.
From the combat log, against Sith assassins:
Player uses Force Scream:
Sith Assassin Will save. Success! 74(Roll 14 + base 25 + mod 35) vs DC 41
Sith Assassin Will save. Success! 77(Roll 17 + base 25 + mod 35) vs DC 41
What does this "mod 35" mean?
Basically, no force power I have works on them (besides plague) because they have a will save modifier of 25+35=70! They have similar reflex and fortitude saves. Nothing seems to work against the hssiss either.
What is going on? Is this a bug? Why is my sith lord, who was slaughtering guards on Onderon, suddenly rendered useless on Korriban?

11 Wisdom is pretty low for a consular type class (Sith Lord). If you have Force Focus (Consular Feat) - try enabling that during fights. Your lightsabre skills will suffer but your offensive Force Powers will work better.
In KOTOR II you need to be careful in how you modify your attrbutes before you take on your Prestige Class to make the best of it. As a sentinel you were better opting for Sith Assassin (Jedi Watchman) class - As a Sentinel you should have taken at least 12-13 points in Wisdom - in order to use force buffs effectively, but for a Consular type class (Jedi Master, Sith Lord) at least 15 wisdom is needed. With only 5 levels left it is unlikely your character is going to get much better before the end.
As long as you are using the PC version you can use the console or KSE (Kotor Savegame Editor) to up your wisdom - it may also be possible to reduce yourself to Level 1 and re-distribute all your points... but I have never tried that.

Two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do!

You've completely missed my point.
My Wis+Cha MODIFIERS are 11. This means my wisdom is 24 and charisma is 18.
It doesn't matter how much Wisdom I have, though; there is no way of beating a will/reflex/fortitude save of base 25 + mod 35 = 70, whatever "mod 35" means here. I want to know if this is a bug, or if it is intended. This is the first time in the game I am encountering enemies with ungodly resistances.

The +35 mod makes it rather impossible for them to fail a save. Iirc even my Sentinel/Weapon Master could get through most mobs with force-powers, so these kinds of modifiers are not common in the standard game.

I did; there's nothing about force powers being nerfed.GawainBS wrote:That's why I'm thinking about a mod. Check the readme of both mods thoroughly?
Also, this is only on Korriban. Most will saving throws are on the order of 23-30 elsewhere. On Korriban, Sion had saving throws of 89, which is ridiculous.
The saving throws are believable elsewhere, I checked. It's only on Korriban, in the cave and the academy, and with the hssisses.GawainBS wrote:Have you gone back off Koriban and tested it elsewhere again? It would be "somewhat" logical that Darksiders have a bonus on Koriban. Only reason I can think of.
I'm pretty sure it's not a game feature; a saving throw mod of 35 is too broken.
(Also: If it is a game feature, it's unfair. I was a darksider, dark as can be, and didn't get any bonus!)

Oh ok, Sion. Sion on Korriban is part of the main storyline, you can not defeat him at that point. Just kill his assassins, saber him a bit and the rest will follow.
Also, some creatures are lore wise resistant to Force Powers, you had Terantateks in KotOR I.
