Hey all!
So I'm running my first IWD2 Solo. Got a Drow Sorcerer, level 20. I'm having a load of trouble with the lost followers. Haven't had any difficulties up till now. Symbol: Hopelessness isn't working on them and neither is wail of the banshee. Im completely buffed and assisted by 7 bone golems going in to the battle. Unfortunately I do not have Malison.
Any tips?
Thanks a bunch everyone.
Soloing Lost Followers... HELP! :(
I'd say the Lost Followers are potentially one of the three hardest fights in the game, and an optional one at that so it's bound to be hard.
Firstly they are all undead, so I wouldn't have thought that Death spells like Wail of the Banshee would work on them anyway. What you probably need to do is spam out some tough summons to act as distractions, and then focus on them one by one, experimenting with the order you go for them in to match your character.
The different opponents all have specific strengths/weaknesses, so remember to exploit them. Consulting my strategy guide it says the following:
Kaervas
Immune to: Piercing, Slashing
Resistant to: Fire, Cold, Electrical
Use: Bludgeoning, Acid, Magic
Inhein
Immune to: Cold, Electrical
Use: Piercing, Fire (or anything else)
Broken Khree
Immune to: Projectiles
Resistant to: Fire, Cold, Electrical, Acid, Magic
Use: Piercing
Ataclys
Use: Fire, slashing
Jaiger
Resistant to: Spells, missile weapons
Use: Fire, acid, slashing, crushing
Veddion Kairne
Immune to: Fire, cold, electrical, magic
Use: Slashing, Acid
Basically experiment with trying different orders - sometimes taking out the weakest first is best, sometimes taking out the most dangerous. I'd generally always recommend going for spellcasters first though, so perhaps try that.
They're definitly soloable - I did it on a barbarian, but I would have had a lot more hitpoints than you.

The battle is optional and won't yield any noteworthy benefit so you can afford skipping or delaying it. You'll soon find better equipment in chapter 6, at level 22 you'll get a 3rd attack per round.
Defeat the archer first, his arrows to avoid getting dispelled or slowed down by his arrows. Shoot and run definitely works, but with mirror images and other protections you should be able to last for an eternity if you can avoid getting dispelled.
