Demi Lich way too easy! (possible spoilers)

Post by Morlock »

I was in lvl. 4 of the watchers keep, and after I killed the ghityaki(sp) and chatted with the dragon,I went into the room on the west. The Demi lich was there.
1st try,he took me by surprise,imprisoned me.
2nd try, imprisoned all my party then me.
3rd try, sent in Edwin shapechanged into a Jelly thing(I rememberd that that helping with Kangaxx),Edwins imprisoned.
4th try,We went in paused, cast Monster summoning III, spider spawn and (with the book)summoned a stone golem, all as cannon feed.they kept him occupied while I summoned a Planatear-he did no good.so Edwin cast Dragons breath, and the Lich died.

now this may seem like a long and incorrect explanation for the title of this post, but in summary all you need is a few low level monsters(quantity not quality) that keep coming (wand of monster summoning works fine) and 1 spell (although 10th level, easely atainable by the time you get to ToB).

Well instead of all those monsters try a wizard eye. If he is any thing like the other demi-lich, the eye will keep him busy and send one or two tanks and take him out. I did this and had no troubke.

This lich is smart so he will go for unprotected targets. Instead send in only one of your party members with prot from magic or prot from undead, berserker rage works as fine too.

So what happens to the eye does he manage to kill it. Or does he spend all his time on it and able your party to attack him.

The SoA Eye is totally un-killable except for dispels and Death Spell. The ToB Eye has supposedly regained mortality.

From my recollection, the first time I got to Suldanesselar (long before ToB) I used the eye to explore and the Rakshasas, some of which could see invisble creature attacked (no spells)and killed the eye after about 50 damage.

I have an easier one:
Send a beefed up character to the room with prot of magic cast on him. The lich will be dead in no time.

Must've been either Remove Magic, Dispel Magic or Death Spell. I've had Eyes soak up literally hundreds of damage, always remaining at Near Death. I even sacrificed one to Demogorgon in the Kuo-Toa caverns, and it survived!
