Crashing problem

Post by MusicDramatical »

Hello everyone! I'm brand new here and just started playing Baldur's Gate for the first time a couple weeks ago. I'm having a total blast. However, as the thread title implies, I'm having a problem. I know that I caused this. I installed BGtutu with SotC, then deleted the original BG and BG2 files and had no problems doing so. Then I wanted to change the portraits and appearances for some of the party members so I installed Shadow Keeper (that's all I used it for, I swear) and had no problems... up to a point.

When I started to change the skin and hair color for some of the characters, that particular save game wouldn't load, but the unchanged save files would. I kept changing things and experimenting to see what would let me load and what wouldn't. At one point, when I tried to load entire screen flashed blue with some white text and then my computer restarted.

I'm not very computer literate, but that didn't seem like a good thing. Now I've gotten it to a place where I can play the game, but sometimes when I save it does the blue screen flashy reboot thing. Do you think I'm causing damage to my computer (XP btw)? Should I stop being so picky and just try to restore my appearance settings and uninstall Shadow Keeper?

Thank you for any help.

Nevermind. Apparently the concept of Minsc having purple hair is just too much for my machine to handle.

Hahahahah!! I almost died!
Ok the problem, as you can see, is that there are spots where you can't put some colors.
Trying a few times you should understand how they work.
As for the weird colors when you save... Well, probably your pc didn't enjoy being raped by so many restarts, but uninstalling Shadow Keeper won't change anything.
