Starting FO2 again

Post by GawainBS »

It's been a while since I played this on a modern system.
I got the Ultimate Collection, and the original Gold Disc FO2.
Patching up to 1.02 is the first step.
Then Killap's. Does this include the Visible Children fix?
Widescreen is a seperate fix, no?

Anything else I should use to play on a "new" Win7 PC?

Thanks in advance!

Are you going with Killap's Restoration Pack or just the Patch? In case of Restoration Pack, the installer version (automatic installer) does contain the missing children fix. When I checked the readme of the Patch it didn't mention any fixes for missing children.

Honestly, I suggest the Restoration Project over the Patch. The game feels completely new with it.

Not sure about widescreen patch, never used it. At least for me the game ran fine with just latest official patch and Restoration Project. And I have Win7 64bit with widescreen.

Yes, Restoration Pack it is. I seem to recall having trouble with widescreen monitors and FO in the past.
Phew, Restoration Pack being a "one-stop" solution is great news.
