I am working on a wizard build. The idea is we and some friends will play from the starting campaign all the way to the final.
So far my build is: (Want a pure wizard)
Wizard
Human
Beetle
Conjuration
Stats:
8 Str
8 Dex
18 Con
18 Int
8 Wis
8 Chr
Starting feats
Spell focus, Toughness(For added hit points).
Spell focus(Conjuration)
My idea is for a fairly destructive wizard.
Any tips and ideas are welcome.
Looking for some tips
If you want a blaster type of Wizard, you're better off with a Sorcerer, since they get more spells.
Conjuration isn't the best choice for that either. There are very few damaging Conjuration spells. (There are, but those are in Pen & Paper.) I'd take an Evoker, though. Conjurer can't take Transmutation spells, and those are too good to pass up, mainly from a defensive point of view.
I'd replace Spell Focus with Spellcasting Prodigy, since it's Spell Focus, but better. (Higher DC for ALL spells + extra spells).
Later on, taking Empower Spell isn't a bad choice, I suppose, as is trying to qualify for Archmage and/or Candlekeep Scholar.
I'd also take a 16 CON and put the extra points in DEX. The extra Initiative, AC, ranged touch to hit and Reflex might be worth it.
Just hang in here and wait for Scottg to show up.

I'd consider taking the Arcane Trickster with the Practised Spellcaster feat. You still get a full fledged wizard, but also get a decent rogue as well. You get a tonne of skill points this way, so if you take able learner off the start, you can maximize a lot of skills. You also get access to evasion and Pilfer magic this way as well.
I find Sun Elf's are the best race to maximize Intelligence, get keen sense to always have search on but be able to move normally and get access to a long bow for if your spells run out.

If you're not into Tricksters, this is an example of a powerfull build:
The Archmage « Build | NWN2DB.
I personally like Sorcerer's better, but I find I need more skill points in NWN2 compared to IWD2, so go with a Wizard instead.
