HEEELLLLP!! Watcher's Keep level 5 (minor spoilers, I think...)

Post by scully1 »

What on earth is the deal with those orbs? It's like the analytical section of the GRE for crying out loud!!!

Okay -- I now have four orbs of each color, so I'm maxed out, as it were. Now I have to place the orbs in the appropriate color-coded pillars. Two problems:

1.) Colors? What colors?? All the stinkin' pillars are GREY!!! I see no colors to the pillars at all.

2.) I have no way of knowing WHICH orbs to place, since they are all mixed up in my inventory. I can't find the "last" ones dispensed, and all the descriptions read the same.

Any advice would be vastly appreciated, as I can't go on with the game till this is solved. Thanks :)

Click on them the ones you need to put in the piller(Pess TAB to see the coloured top) won't make the quick item slot be highlighted

that's a good suggestion from Craig for figuring out which globe to put in the pillar - just try to equip each globe in your quick item slots, the one that isn't useful otherwise won't equip and you'll get a message "item has no use" or something. Put that one in the pillar.

I have a thread here with the uses of all the different globes.

As for the pillars, you could check your monitor settings to bring out the colors more, but for reference:

upper left - purple
lower left - blue
upper right - red
lower right - green

This had me thinking for a long time and eventually also getting mad! But I took my frustration out on the extra toughh fights you get for the next orb. At first I thought hey cool unlimited XP but nope.

good luck with demo, loner :D

I suggest concentrating all your attacks on him, have your fighters whirlwind/grtr ww, mages casting breaches and lower resistances, just focus everything on him for a couple rounds, he should go down.

what i done was put one of each colour in each pillar. you can get a max of four globes of each colour and then i put one of each colour in each thing, and then i got the xp. also i got loads of xp from killing things. the hardest one is the purple/green, the one which spawns out undead. the third one spawns out four vampires whilst the fourth spawns out TWO liches, which is quite hard but hey the xp is worth it.

ps you don't get any treasure from the demogorgan.

To add to Jaker's tips, the last globe for each color is the "non-usable" one. What I did was to click on one color at a time till all the globes of that color are gathered, the last one placed on the pillar. This is a good strat coz at least you've got a fairly good idea of what type of monsters to expect: undead, mages, "proverbial monsters", and "fantastic monsters."

I had my cleric continuously in turning mode for that series of undead spawning. Naturally, being high-level at that point, most of the opposition were annihilated by the second round.

Once he has summoned his little helpers, run outside and rest. When you re-enter they will be unsummoned. Summon some friends yourself and go baddy bashing ;)
