Most deadly monster COMBO

Post by Promise »

What do u thinks is the most dangerous monster combo? It's the mind flayer/beholder combo in the underdark IMO, your characters gets stuned easily, then the beholders keep firing all sorts of spells at ur casters, making them unable to dispel the effects. Even worse is they dispel your spell protections.
Dealing with beholders? Use the shield and cloak of u know what. Mind flayers? Chaotic command works fine. But I won't dare to tackle such deadly combo without a beserker using the u know what shield.
I'm not so strictly lawful neutral
now.

you mean the harmonium shield and cloak of mirrors?

make sure you delete clck26.itm from the override directory or it will absorb the rays instead of bouncing them back and they die from them...

I too hate mind flayer beholder combo, thankfully only one area in the game has them, the beholder dungeon in the underdark. and you can complete the quest itself without exploring the rest of the dungeon by clearing the first room only.

the heart seal crew is pretty bad...hive mothers are worse than the standard beholder...

Yes, a very good combo. The Cloak of Mirroring will protect you from the damage and insta-kill(!) rays while the Shield of Harmony will protect you from the disabling rays and Mind Flayer powers. Chaotic Commands and Free Action would be dispelled quickly (especially if you face Smart Beholders(TM) ;) ).

Hive Mothers are cheesy! They have an endless supply of spells. Did you notice that their (slow casting) version of Anti-Magic ray removes one of your highest level spells? Just like a Nishruu attack.
