I made a new character and all the chests have been looted even though it's a totally new character

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
Was this a new version of an existing character, or a totally new character? Thanks for the response. I think it was a different character as it had a different name. But saying that I wonder if it was the 'same' character but I interjected to change the name but *not* the character.
Anyhow after I updated with a patch it didn't happen again. I am having a good time on the game, though today is college football so only a little play.

This is happening again and I don't know why. I even made the character a different race and name and the chests are already looted. I'll check for a patch again.

I'm nor sure about administrator? Do I check that by rightclicking the shortcut? (I've figured out admin before I just forgot how to do it...
Both times it happened I fixed it by installing patch. I don't know if they are sequential patches or just some oddity.

They've only released one patch, so that would be weird if installing it twice helped.
To run the game as administrator, right-click on the shortcut, go to properties, then advanced, and then click on "run as administrator". I had to do that to prevent invalid slot errors.

If you are loading a pre-used world (via multiplayer) with this new character, that would explain it. I used to do that on accident sometimes To circumvent this, I'd simply play one of my strong characters up til Fargrove and leave everything as it is, so any "new" character can load into that world as if the sewers were already done (but chests not looted yet).
Otherwise, I've never encountered this problem.
