XP and Level up questions

Post by Chips_40285 »

in ToB, when you use a six member party, do your characters still achive the max level? I dont want to be ending bgII with a level 22 stalker and mid-level party members (its just not as cool)
Robert DeNiro is an awesome actor!
Proof:
the untouchables
raging bull
ronin
meet the parents
...and the list goes on

I don't think so. When I completed ToB with a party of six I only reached lvl 26. But I had played SoA without ToB installed first, then installed ToB and played that. If you started SoA whille ToB was installed you would get a higher lvl by the end as I spent the last part of SoA at the old xp cap. But I still don't think all your char would reach their max lvl.

Well, it depends on how thorough you played the game. If you do all the quests and killed everyone, I dont think it's impossible not to reach the XP cap. However, all the times I've played, usually only 3 out of 6 of my part members reaches their caps (although the other three, are not far off).

For me, usually (and typically) the warriors and fighters reaches their max first, as obviously they'll be doing the most damage, hence gaining the bonus XP. Eg of NPCs are Korgan, Sarevok, Minsc, etc. I think Viconia also maxed out.

Thieves (for me, anyway), dont really max out much.. and mages reaches about level 28 (?? cant remember).

Then again, I am a pretty cr@p player! haha.. The bottom line is, dont worry if all your NPCs dont max out.. they dont fall behind too far back! Just enjoy the game as it comes.

Illuman:

Something it's important to understand is that the ToB xp cap is 8 MILLION points. That's a lot. Basically, if you've got a full party you can just start dreaming, because you're not likely to reach much more than half that number. Can't remember what the average xp amount is, but most of the party was at level 30-something. But not to worry, as Bioware never really intended for anything other than solo players to reach the top, so you won't find any kind of major inadequacies in power. Most combat encounters set their individual difficulty by the average xp of the party, thereby scaling to suit your characters' abilities.

If you're really intent on getting to 8 mil, then there are a couple of ways to do so. In Sendai's enclave there is an area where hostile dwarf slaves keep appearing and attacking for as long as you want. They don't give off that much xp each, but it's the best cheese tactic I think there is.
