Game ending bug on Telos Academy Redux

So this might be the strangest bug I've ever encountered and I haven't been able to find anyone else who's ever duplicated it, nevermind solved it, but here goes (spoilers follow)

So I've just gotten past the Jedi Council meeting on Dantooine (where I encountered another very bizarre bug that I fixed by loading another save made during the point where the game crashed, but somehow resulted in the game thinking I murdered all the council members which I most definitely did not) and now I'm back at the Jedi Academy on Telos. I go have the showdown with Atris and beat her down pretty quickly but the problem occurs as soon as the dialogue here finishes. The in-game movies show the Ebon Hawk taking off and leaving the surface of Telos, and then we see The Ravager flying through space.

Now here's where it gets weird.

As I understand and remember it, the next sequence should have me on Citadel Station about to fight a bunch of Sith and then proceed onboard the Ravager to kick the crap out of Nihilus. Only that doesn't happen. Instead, another in-game movie occurs showing the Citadel Station shuttle flying down to the surface of the planet. I'm then once again in the underground military base on Telos. All the enemies are gone because I've been through here at the very freaking beginning of the game already and taken them all out. If I proceed to the hangar where the shuttle was before, there are 3 HK-50 units in the control room, talking about how they lost their target or something. Then we get that in-game movie of one of them shooting down the shuttle over the academy. Exact same movie as we saw hours before, mind you. Then we crash, there's no HK-50 confrontation, and two Handmaidens are on the plateau and can be talked to like there's nothing wrong and they've seen me before. If I go inside, everyone is gone and I can't enter the Ebon Hawk. From this point I'm completely stuck and can't do anything to progress the game.

So my question is: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I have no idea what scripting error could have possibly resulted in something this borked and it sounds more like a strange dream than a real bug but that's what I'm facing. If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it because I don't really want to re-start and lose over 40 hours of gameplay.

For reference, I'm using the most recent version of both the core game and the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod.

Sounds like a RCM related issue, since it actually sends you back to some of these places. I would take it up with the good folks at the Deadlystream forums, but if I were you I'd check if you can reproduce this bug first. They are quite 'done' with the whole project, so it would have to be a serious bug for them to do more bugfixing. Random glitches just don't get any attention anymore.

Apparently this is some kind of issue with the ultimate saber mod (though what files would be conflicting to cause something this silly I'm not really sure) so I uninstalled that but now my game crashes whenever I try to load a save. Could be it doesn't like that I took elements of that save file out of my override, in which case I guess I'm done. Kind of a shame, as I hadn't played this game in years and it was far, far better than I remember.

Interesting. You know, I feel I've read it many times before.. that the 'ultimate' saber mod is the cause of some kind of conflict. Hm. I might have to avoid that one in the future.

Many savegames of many different games break when you start to mess with the mods they depend on. It's pretty much what you can expect to happen.

Yup, I was kind of afraid of that possibility but I've had other games handle the change just fine after removing mods so I figured it was either potentially have a worthless save or definitely have a worthless save.

And yeah, I'd say ignore USM. It doesn't really add anything too interesting to the game and if it's that likely to mess something up then it's safer to pass. Actually, TSL is so unstable to begin with that I'd probably recommend not modding it at all outside of TSLRCM. Just seems like you'd be stacking a bit too much dynamite next to the fire, really.

I currently only have TSLRCM installed, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Thanks for the tip, I'll be leaving me installation as it is.
