Insect Plague

Post by jlhough4145 »

Is there any way to counter or remove an insect plague once it is cast on your party? It kinda tough since you have 100% spell failure while the bugs are biting you. :-(

Jere

PS Is there any listing somewhere of all the best defenses or counterspells for all the spells? I've been to Xyx's site and it's good but not what exactly what I'm looking for.

There is no way to dispel the "spellfailure" effect (even if you could cast).
Cast Spell Immunity:Conjuration beforehand to avoid it or disrupt the enemy druid's spellcasting with Magic Missiles.

few ways i have found out.
1) when u see message `insect plague cast at XXX` (usually a mage type) just send that player far away and lead insects away . then u can micromanage and run around with insects following while other npcs continue the fight. this way even if u accidentally let the insects catch you , it wont spread to other members if they are not nearby.

2) have npc equip staff of magi(less painful) or carsomyr (ouch) and hit affected character to dispel.

3) use dispell spell from carsomyr (someone mentioned this last week)

I guess running might be an option if you see it quickly enough. However, my main question was how to dispell it. I guess you are saying you can dispell from an equipped weapons dispell ability, and that is not affected by the spell casting failure.

Cool. I'll have to try that. I wonder if that will also work for Creeping Doom, an even more potent version of Insect Plague?

Thanks, Jere
