Underdark

I am about to enter the Underdark. Can I do both the Underdark and return Via the ship to do the fish people part of the game? If I can only do one which is better?

do the fish people first; after that things have a way of working out for themselves. If you go to the underdark first you will miss this section and it is advised to do it. My first time through the game i missed the opportunity because I believe I chopped Saemon into itsy bitsy chunx.

I actually snuck by him (invisible) to get the key to the portal. So he never asked me to catch a ride with him. Will he be there if i go back after doing the Underdark or once I enter am I locked in to going the no ride from him route?

But don't kill SAemon before you leave the island. Do everything he says.
The fish ciy has some really good itmes and decent xp and a great funny conversation with a beholder!!! Oh and you get to fight the only giant in the whole game.

Ettin (sub-species of Giant, if I'm not mistaken). You fight him to impress the Sahuagin king.

ohh the etin. U get to fight 3 more of them if u are a palain. It's part of the stronghold quest.
