FO: NV Using GECK to add custom weapons to perks
More specifically, I want to add some of these weapons to the Grunt perk, and the others to the Laser Commander perk. Also, I want to add the Assault Carbine (GRA) to the Grunt list.
How do I do that? Googling doesn't really bring answers. I'm completely new to the GECK.
Thanks in advance!

You could read this article. I haven't dabbled with GECK too much since I think it's not user friendly, especially when you try to create locations.
Basically, as far as I understood, the effects of perks is determined in Perk Entries, which includes the items it affects.

Providing the modder did her/his job properly they should be automatically included by the Grun perk. The perk, as I read it, modifies according to the gun or explosive skill, not the weapon. At least in the Perk tab it refers to gun and explosive, as opposed to any weapon or even weapon category as in 'Small gums'.

PS I assume the same is true of Laser Commander, although I never checked that in GECK.

PPS Yes the GECK is very confusing at first, second and even third!

So why aren't other DLC weapons included in the perk by default? And are you saying that weapons have a "hidden discroptor" like "Assault Rifle" or "SMG"?
P.S.: I tried making Follows-Chalk in Honest Hearts essential, since last time I shot him before I knew any better, but I didn't even find him in the GECK...

I think that was done to avoid problems if the player doesn't have both DLCs.

The perk itself is added by a DLC, it isn't part of the vanilla game.
PS To access any DLC content with GECK you have to select the DLC when starting a project.

Then I don't understand why you can't find Follows Chalk, he was easy enough to find in the GECK when I checked earlier. The only reason I could think of was that you weren't checking the box, if you are, and he isn't there then you presumably have some kind of bug. You do have the latest version of GECK right?

Sort by name (not ID which is NVDLC02FollowsChalk) and you should find him.

Can someone answer this, please? I really want to know which "Classic Fallout Weapons" (see link in 1st post) fall under the "Grunt" perk, if any.
For example: Do all the assault rifles fall under it? (Would be logical.) Does the P90 fall under it? It's an SMG which uses 10mm ammo, but it's very much inline with the Grunt perk.
