Gods In Argyle

Post by Nippy »

Ok guys and gals, I've just found out they are rebuilding the Pantheon in Argyle so if we adventure there we need to have different deities. Moradin the Dwarven God is the only Forgotten Realms God there... I actually wrote a God there among some other people who created them, it of course was a God of Paladins. :D :D

New gods seems like a good idea.
Just one suggestion. IMO havingrace specific gods makes eevrything to confusing.
Maybe we could have 2 elven gods or something, but going into so much depth makes things confusing. If anybody's ever read Evermeet; Island of the Elves, you will understand. There were sooo many elven gods, demi-gods, gods of all power.
I would prefer if we had 1 or 2 race specific gods, and the rest be general gods worshipped by everybody, whether for good or for evil.

The bashee would be a good idea. Not only is it a god, its our guilds god. But then we would have a problem with teh clerics, on which god to follow, the banshee or the one they believe in?
Anyway the banshee should be atleast neutral, since i believe banshees are usually evil like most undead.

We could call the banshee Buck, and he would be the god of the undead[something like Orcus in FR] (after all if you've checked where buck's from and he lists the 9 hells)

Buck god of the undead. NE
Thorin god of the gods. TN
BraveSirRobin god of the knights. LG
...

An interesting thing would be after we all reach really high levels after tons of adventuring, we could attempt to accend to godhood, it would be a cool idea, although its impossible, unless Argyle has an equivelent of the Valley of the Gods in Faerun. (Yes i read the books in BG games)

Just a bunch of ideas.

Hopefully the guys at Argyle won't go overboard with the amount of gods being made available.

I'm all for a guild god.

Well - AFAIK the God system in NwN is based on domains - and then the god itself is pretty useless. The way I understand Argyle is that it is Gods that will have dedicated temples (Temple of Godname), so whether this is importent for any other than clerics and maybe not even for them, I don't know.

I say we wait until we know more from Argyle and/or NwN before messing with what Gods people can/have to worship.

OK sorry guys the competition to create Gods is over. I got one in like I say. There was atleast another 5 from others at the Argyle message boards and the DM's at Argyle are creating more.

@Nippy.

Do you have a link to the Argyle board?

I wouldn't mind checking out the progress so far.

If you join the boards over there (not much happening there) make sure you don't mention BoTB yet - it would be great if we could come as a surprise to the main "population" of course some of the DM's will know about us, but not the players :D

:D - there are some people over there (Ei. "Guild of Sin" or something) that seems to be pretty evil, and it would be great not to draw to much attention to ourselves until we can defend ourselves.

Imagine this: One of us comes walking, and gets jumped by such person of a 10 person guild wich then kills one of us.
Next time - 40 of us comes walking and kills everybody that looks at us wrong - Buwaahahahahaaa (good think I'm Chaotic Neutral :D )

For a while there. I was worried that everyone were going to go for the obvious good/neutral guilds. Hopefully now, they'll be a nice balance of guilds.

BTW- Your link took me to a screenshot of the Argyle logo and nothing more.

The "circles" is part of an imagemap wich will direct you around the site. ;)

Well I actually think there will be more "evil" people in NwN than good.
People will want to go PvP and what better way to do this then to play an evil character, so you can claim to be RP'ing then PKing :)

Thanx again. I guess 3-5 seconds isn't enough time to be spent on each web site.

There should be plenty of evil people in Argyle for you to rain rightous fire down upon :D :D

And for the rogues, what would be more fun than stealing a lot of money for the self-rigthous clerics in Argyle :D

Uhm, if we start out as level 1 couch potatos, won't they as well? In that case, it's a matter of numbers and individual player skill.

Well yes, but I have some of them pegged at being very serious about it, and they will properly play a lot :)
(well so are many of us, but I'm just throwing out a warning)

We should powergame mercilessly! No "my character won't use that Hackmaster +12 because he likes spears..."! Kill! Maim! Destroy! Only when all opposition is thoroughly crushed and all survivors have been hunted down will we be able to indulge in that kind of silliness!
