Which companions i don't need to pick?

Post by Artas1984 »

There comes a moment when Anna joins you eventually, whether you like it or not.

However, what about other companions? For instance Dakkon was available for hire as soon as i have left mortuary and visited the flaming corpse bar, but will there come a time when Dakkon will be "forced" to join me just like Anna or is he just an optional mercenary?

And the same should be asked about all the other companions which might join me in the future!

I think just Annah.
I strongly recommend against going solo, since you'll miss out on some great dialogues and storymoments.

I second Gawain - you get more out of the game with companions.

I understand that perfectly, but that was not the answer to the question.

I was wondering is it possible to finish the game without hiring NPCs and just using Nameless and Morte? How does the story change in that way?

I will definitely hire them though..

Have you played the game before? It's hard to answer the question without spoiling the story.

Ok don't tell me, since it is my first play-through.

But the ending will change according to what companions i choose?

Yes, a bit, you'll especially want to have Morte and Da'kon at the end, though the others are also nice (I prefer Da'kon, Annah, Morte, Nordom and fall from grace).

You will have a less satisfying ending the less companions you bring.

It depends on your criterias.
Vhailor and Ignus have the least interactions in the game.

Ignus was disposed very quickly! I hate characters like that with gibberish talk, there is no place for lunatics in my party. I killed him for not talking to me and kinda don't feel sorry:

1) he was lacking major EXP compared to the rest of my party, he was basically a weakling.
2) i am training as a warrior only, so his mage "gifts" are not needed. I disposed of my intestines too.

I was surprised that he is a chaotic neutral, to me he looked like a pure chaotic evil.
