Battle with other Guilds?
Battle with other Guilds?
Will we be doing battle with the other guilds like planetneverwinter? It would be kinda cool to have a war going on. The fighters could fight, the mages would cast spells, the rangers would scout and maintain our borders, and the thieves could steal and assassinate the leaders! Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Bless ye boy, you show spirit ...<claps garrett upside the head> but that's for being a blind fool. The last thing we need is war. We'll be burying our friends faster than we can think. Not because we're weak...but because that's what happens in war. The young are fools more often than not.
Sorry if i've offended you my friend, but such talk pricks me down deep. I've seen too many friends fall to go looking for trouble.

Thet thing is there will be certain guilds that will war with each other, and these guilds would be opposite in alignment so they have a reason.
I have one thing to say actually. There is one guild in Argyle that is good aligned, I believe that if we were to create a neutral and good aligned guild then we would have a better chance of getting in with cheaper buildings. Opinions (besides there are 2 evil characters, not much change to Neutral of Lawful Neutral)

I agree with Nippy (and not just because he's the Divine Wing King ). I don't think that a neutral and good aligned guild is very much of a comprimise. Either that, or simply have a darned good reason why your evil character would associate with a predominantly good guild. (C'mon, use those creative juices and rationalize)Originally posted by Nippy:

Of course, it's easy for me to say, since I'm already LG.

Planet neverwinter and most guilds wil probably good aligned, and i don't planetneverwinter wants to go fighting with us. Maybe we can make an alliance but i doubt we need allies. We'll be more than powerful by ourselves.

i have a question, what happens when we get ambushed by members of another guilds, like a bandit guild or something. if someone knock sme out and steals my stuff i want to go crazy on them. I want that to be like that because it would give the game a more realistic feeling.and another thing what happens when we become dominate forces in the world like when we hit max level (20 i think) what happens then? by that time we would have plenty of gold and would have armies and stuff. my dad was telling me he was like level 20 when we was playing and we had his own army and all that good stuff. i think that would be cool if we could do that. thats just my opinion

Ned wants power and Ned goes to where the power is....good/bad has little effect on his behavior.
Strict laws govern Neds behavior. He will follow them to the point...meaning to his point of view. For good or bad....he plans to move his guild forward...............

Why not keep the Guild open to all alignments, but maintain a little "get along" attitude? BG2's Evil NPCs work well in parties. I see only opportunities for roleplaying. Wouldn't want to see:
"I am a force of righteousness!"
"No, I am!"
"No, me! I am more righteousserest than you both together!"
or
"I'm Good."
"Me too."
"We're Good."
"Yeah."
Much better have some good discussion between people of partially incompatible alignment. Why restrict roleplaying opportunities?

Well, hopefully NwN will be a bit more realistic in experience distribution than BG2/ToB...meaning level 20 is that of a supreme mortal, bordering on immortality. And that it will take perhaps years to reach such a level. I don't know how long it takes in PnP D&D, since i've never had the opportunity to play, but i'm sure it takes a while. So what i'm saying is...it's a long way off. No point in planning that far ahead. Yes, though, it would be cool.Originally posted by Nikolai:

You're a lowly level 1 newbie; you get to kill Kobolds in the forest for 7 XP a pop.
You're a level 15 bigshot; you get to kill Pit Fiends in some level of the Abyss for 16,000 a pop.
Either way, with a DM that hands out an average amount of XP, you should gain a level once in every 2-3 adventures, depending on the size of the adventure, of course.
Quicker advancement than that would become almost BG-like.
Slower advancement means you might as well stop keeping track of XP after you reach level 5 or so. You'll never see 6 at that rate.
