I believe it happens within the game itself.
Ex. there are 2 "vendors" and an enchanter in the "campsite" portion of the game. The campsite portion isn't available until after you are through with "Lothering" (..I think that's the name of the town, or something like that). One of those vendors (NOT the one standing near the enchanter), you initiate dialog with an it opens-up the ability for DLC.
(..I think that's the way it works.. it's been quite awhile since I played it.)
Note: I remember having to ALSO setup a particular user account online with the game publisher (or something like that). THAT was a real pain in the @ss.
If you already own the DLC packs, and you're just looking for where to download them from, then you should go to your account at social.bioware.com.

I played a while ago and everything was broken, and had to jump through some hoops Bioware hasn't bothered to tell anyone about.
1. In game DLC downloading is broken.
2. Need to download the files from Biowares social network.
3. At the social network they don't give you everyhtong you need. So using "The stone prisoner as an example:
Download the file from the social network they provide , but then to activate it, some files also need an "Offer File" found here: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloa ... t_(Origins) I know Stone Prisoner was one example (and I even had it from CE, but it didn't work without this offer file).
4. Install the Offer file and the main file with the mod installer. The mod will then appear on the map - Stone Prisoner caravan for example, I forget if the journal entries were missing/appeared.
I had to repeat this for several mods - Wardens Keep, etc, but got it all working. Obviously ensure you're logged into their network.
...All of that messing around compared to CDProjekt's installer for the Witcher 2.

You should not need to buy a new game, no.mewp wrote:I did htat. Do I need to buy an updated game to get them?
When I built my new comp I reinstalled DAO, and it's not that tricky, you can install the DLC in any order. On your my games, registered content page you should see everything, including this offer file which I certainly never installed before, but is now there when you click on the PC instructions or whatever. If you can download the DLC there you are good to go. Otherwise, you can still buy them from within the game with bioware points or whatever they call them so long as you are logged into your origin/social account within the game.
Go the Dragon Age Nexus and download the mod manager, it's better than DA updater, but either way you should install the DLC as instructed and then make sure they are checked when you load the game.
