arkanis gath

Post by bogotter »

I finished the quest for aran linvail to tell get me on the boat to rescue Imoen. I saved the game just before i respoke to him and attacked him. Instantly, some geezer called arkanis gath?? appeared and instantly killed 4 party members. Surely if u side with Bodhi this is an impossible fight....OR...

...is this deliberately done because if i killed lindvail, then I would never rescue Imoen or complete the game??? and so making these seemingly unstoppable characters is a good way to get round this....

Arkanis only keeps you from escaping the storyline in the quests linked to the shadow thieves ... there are various ways to call him and there are even ways to kill him - but to no avail.

yeah, basically this crazy assassin is there to prevent you from killing aran and screwing up the plot...
i read somewhere that he is apparently equipped with a +1000 fire/ice/acid/magic damage weapon, with other similarly insane stats...
wonder what would happen if you [ctrl] + Y'd him...

Search the forum for "Arkanis Gath" and you'll find it quick. Hint: It has something to do with ending his life without necessarily taking all his HP. ;)

I tried to put him into my party by Strg+Q and he has a crappy sword, but he has very good stats.
When you party him, another Arkanis Gath appears and kills you.....

OMG!

how can you say his sword is crappy?
it gives about +10 or +15 to armourclass and chops stuff down in like 1 hit!
i clua-ed in the sword and then clua-ed a dragon, Nalia (who was weilding it at the time) swung once and the dragon was dead.
the sword also gives loads to thaco as well, it took Nalia's down to -56!
it also has improved haste as an equipped ability
you can't call a sword that does an average of 750 damage an kills dragons in one hit a 'crappy' sword.

Why would you use the sword anyway? You just ruin the game with it.

i don't use the sword, well only a few times and it was against summoned dragons that i used fo training.
if used the sword against normal enemies and powerful npc's then it would make the whole game stupid and boring.
