Finishing off quest after completed game

After finishing up the final battle sequence underneath the castle and getting rid of the Pool of Radiance yada yada, the dungeon master blue wording comes up saying that "although I've completed, I still can go finish the quest I haven't completed". What I'm wondering is how do I get out of the Pool of Radiance cavern to complete the quest (orrery stones). There doesn't appear to be any exit.

I was wondering the same thing, I just beat it today myself, and after about a minute I decided to actually EXPLORE THE AREA..I went all the way down then I went just below where the pool was in the first place and there is an item icon (sword/shield) and a portal above it.
