Right now my party is as follows:
lvl 6/6 Ranger/Rogue HP122
lvl 6/5 Fighter/Monk HP 115
lvl 6/4 Cleric Paladin HP 72
First a question. Does anyone see something wrong with the HP differences here? Even thougheach character is only one level apart the Fighter/Monk and the Ranger/Rogue are quite close, but the Cleric/Paladin is somehow severely lacking in the HP department. She's got a +3 Con bonus same if not more than the others, and somehow she's getting hardly any HP. I'm now at the point in the game where Faeril becomes available, and I'm thinking of leaving my Cleric/Paladin for Faeril, who is a:
lvl 9/5 Cleric/Fighter HP ~111
Is this a wise choice since I'll have to balance out the two classes to keep from further -20% XP since she's an Elf. But on the plus side, she does have those two more spell levels then my previous character and about 30 more HP.

Choosing Faeril
the hit point count does seem a bit low, but i don't know a good way to check it out. i picked up faeril when she became available and have found her to be a strong ally. i am curently wandering around in the castle and have all my characters leveled up to the point where i have to dual class everyone (16) and she is 10/10 and a great cleric and fighter. my party is paladin,fighter,ranger,thief,sorcerer,cleric/fighter and i haven't been in a position yet where i wished i had different classes. good luck!

I went ahead just enough to to take the Gem(or whatever it was) back to the temple, and when I went back Faeril was no longer availabe... why is she the only one that is no longer available after you say you don't want them in your party at the initial meeting? I guess I'm gonna have to stick with the Cleric/Paladin after all. If there's a reason why I can't pick her up can someone please lemme know.

Here it goes:
lvl 6/6 Ranger/Rogue:
6d10 + 6d6 + 36(say +3 from his con) MAX HP: 132HP This character is almost at his max HP.
lvl 6/5 Fighter/Monk:
6d10 +5d8 + 22(say +2 from his con) MAX HP: 122HP. This character is also almost at his max HP
lvl 6/4 cleric/paladin
6d8 + 4d10 +30 - the max HP points for this character are 118HP
- the min HP are 40HP
this character just got an average HP of what he can get max . Bad Dice/bad luck maybe
. Another reason is because is only level 4 paladin and only leveled up four times with a D10 while the other 2 leveled up six times.
So there is nothing wrong with this character. Maybe you are more lucky later if you keep it. I'm also gonna say that indeed Faeril is a very strong NPC in game so the choice is up to you.

Faeril...
I believe Faeril is that one chick in the tree with the blind guy..the reason she was wanting to join in the first place is to help you do a certain thing she had her mind on (returning the token to the ghost lady at the ruined temple) and I know after I refused I could still get her til after I completed that quest, after that there was no reason for her to join again. Personally I accept any of the NPCs into the group then steal their stuff and remove em from the group so they show up somewhere convenient like the tree or near nottle. My 4 chars are all 16/+ but originally were Fighter, Rogue, Sorcerer, and Cleric..and it is weird, but I believe the Sorcerer's level 8 spell sucks, and the Cleric's level 8 spell is stronger than most of the Sorcerer's spells..which is weird since the Sorcerer is supposed to be the destructive one of the group...oh well.
