Anything besides spells for a Mage in ToB?

Post by a11e »

I like to solo. My sorcerer already has the Ring of Gaxx, Wizardry, Earth Control, Ram, etc, the staff of the Magi, Cloak of the Sewers, Boots of Speed, AC3 Bracers, Amulet of Power, Robe of Vecna and other assorted items. I have yet to go to the Asylum as I like to complete all the side quests and kill the dragons first.

I haven't heard of any items that a mage would want in ToB leaving only the spells and skills to look forward to. Does anyone see any items worth acquiring in ToB for Mage types?

Just curious....

Might not be very important, but i like to use the burial mask on mages as it protects against critical hits. As for items in ToB that are useful for mages..... cant think of any.

Cirlet of Netheril is a GREAT item for mages/sorcerers. There's also a Ioun Stone (Golden) that gives +1 to Intelligence, but I doubt your mage lacks that. :)

The Staff of the Ram is a pretty nice back up for the staff of magi incase you need to cause alot of damage really fast

The Crimson Dart is, IMHO, quite a good ranged weapon for mages. Familiars get upgraded so you'll get an extra 12 HP. You'll also get the Ring of Protection+3. That's about all I can think of.

You can use King Strohm III's mask for the same effect.
It's in Firkraags lair...

I think mages can wear the deep gnome patrol leaders helm too...
