polymorph self

Post by unhappy player »

What went wrong..?

I was messing around with Nalia and made her polymorph (Spell) self into a Gnoll (I think). But as a gnoll she dont have access to her spells which is very annoying. Unlike Cernd who polymorphs between his various werewolf forms and Humanoid appearance, Nalia have no "back to humanoid form" button and her spells are disabled so I cant make her polymorph one more time and sleeping didn't help either.

... what went wrong and how do I get her back to normal I must have missed something?

Shapeshifts Natural Form is one of the abilities added under the Special Abilities button when Polymorph Self is active. You mentioned sleeping, however, so I assume you've encountered that nasty little bug that sometimes occurs with Polymorph Self. (I've had Nalia stuck in Mustard Slime form. )

To fix this problem, you can try casting Polymorph Self again, and then have Nalia Shapeshift Natural Form. If this doesn't re-enable her spell-casting ability, then save the game and open it in ShadowKeeper. Click on the arrows under the portraits until Nalia is showing, then click on the arrows toward the top-right until you can select the affects tab. Scroll down the list until you see the effect called Disable Button. Delete that one and save the game. Nalia should be able to cast spells again. Hope this helps!

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I've found that Dispel Magic won't work. I was also thinking of using a scroll to cast Polymorph Self. You can get ShadowKeeper here. It's a savegame-editing utility you can use to hack characters, or fix problems.

To restore Nalia's form, click on the appearance tab and select Mage Female Human.
