I'm finally in the Catacombs and I've started coming across Drow weapons. Although they are of smaller magical bonus (+1/+1 compared with the Helm Cleaver my Half-Orc has) is there any benefit in picking up these less powerful weapons at this stage of the game? (picturing my half-orc cleaving through a commando and afterwards picking up the drow's +1 dagger saying "ugh...no one you die....hahaha"
BTW - Has anyone tried using the "Partially scribbled scroll of teleportation with effects unknown"?

The only benefit would be that you can sell them for gold. But then again, the things you can buy with that gold are also not very spectacular and much better weapons are found on your way through the game.
My paladin/rogue for instance is carrying the Large Batwanged serrated Blade; the Dreadseord Deamoniac
4D6+6
to hit + 6 / Damage + 6 / Str + 2 / Dex + 2
reflex saving throws +2 / will saving throws - 2
Cast destruction level 20
A normal hit with this weapons causes an injury of 30+ hitpoints (and my paladin/rogue has 4 attacks per round!) and a critical hit or a sneak attack causes an injury of around 150 hitpoints (instant death to many a adversary!).
So I don't bother too much with weapons unless they are at least of a +4 type.
As to your question about that scroll, I haven't tried that one yet, so I can't give you any comment as to what the effect of it might be.

To Alfric:
The partial scroll of teleportation actually casts Blink.
The other to strange potions:
contaminated potion of mage armour: Invisibility
undiluted potion of cure light wounds: Cure Critical Wounds instead.
