Finished-A few thoughts

Post by davfra »

Well, I finished BG1. This is my second time around and it was so much easier this time.
The main reason was because I avoided melee combat like the plague. I had four of my party equiped with bows and two members using magic.
I had Imoen dual classed as mage/thief and the gorgeus Safara as my other thief.
I had no real problems at any stage. I spent most of my gold on arrows +2 and collected as many wands as possible.
My magic users were equiped with slings+2 and bullets+2.
I finished Sarevok off with loads of monsters summoned up with wands.
My party never had to go near the enemy except on one or two occasions when they were taken by surprise.
I was into Icewind Dale and stopped to have a go at BG!.
I can`t wait to get back to Icewind Dale and try out my new strategy.
Thanks for all the help. I would have been well stuck without all the advice I received from this forum.
Cheers,
Davfra

You're welcome. :)
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I found absolutely nothing wrong with using one good melee fighter (protagonist warrior or Minsc). Give him/her every AC-lowering item in the game, and you have a great tank that can keep enemies busy while the rest does the ranged attack thingy.

Every member of my party can always quike suitch to a ranged weapon.
Real commanders display their battle skill on the front lines.

I've got something to say to you dwarven bigots: "Harglukkin phuul naubol jhal waela rothen ulu ussa!"

He died a natural death as a dagger in the chest naturally kills you.
