Can anyone tell me if there is anything really important across the gargoyle bridge in the Catacombs - Second Cellar dungeon?
I'm sure getting across is dependent on finding the person or item that lets you talk to gargoyles, but I've been through all of the catacombs and halls sections, and am about to give Anorrweyn the Emerald Gem of the Weave, but I didn't want to continue if I needed something from across the bridge...
Gargoyle bridge
Spoiler below
Behind the Gargoyle Bridge at the Second cellar of the catacombs lays their lair and their treasures but you have to convise them to lower the bridge to get there. To do that you need the Stone Head to talk to them which you find down to the Ancient Tomb after you fall in there.

[SIGH]That's what I was afraid of...
I had one of the notorious game crashes right after the transition to entering the barrow -- the barrow collapsed, the game transitioned, then crashed right as I entered the battle with the undead in the first room (on the left, as I recall). When I went back to the autosave, I had a (obviously, now) big problem -- the autosave happens AFTER the barrow collapses, so the characters are standing on top of the barrow with the entrance already collapsed in, but no way to enter the hole...
Any other entrances to that section? I'm guessing one of the locked doors in the city or one of the doors locked with a glyph I haven't found yet... When it happened, I figured I could always go back later, or find another entrance, but I've since gotten my characters up to levels I would prefer not to have to re-earn (~8th at the time of that particular crash, ~16th now...) Or is there a way (possible hex-editing) to restore the barrow covering?

The door to the north of there takes you down to the Halls of Light inside one of the rooms with the Glyph of Song. The only problem is that you learn the singing word from inside the Ancient Tomb so you can't use it to get down without knowing the word.
I don't thing that you can hex-edit your way out since all the available editors for the game cannot add items on the characters, so the only solution( i hate to say that) is to restart the game from a point before you entered the ancient tomb.

the solution to the gargoyle bridge
First of all, you have to have the stone mouth to talk to them.
Start the conversation, tell them that you are hurt....
They are going to ask you how bad ?
You choose the second , from top, option; I think it is "not so bad wounded" or something like this.
There are some interesting treasures over the bridge , weapons I mean....
Good luck !

You say that you are "baldy injured" since the other options are "you are fine" "very badly injured" and "near death".
Anyway you just have to make them believe that they can defeat you and they will lower the bridge for you. But even if you didn't get the dialogue right, this area has nothing crucial to your main quest, just a few +5 weapons and xp for killing some margoyles and gargoyles

OK, that's kind of the answer I was looking for; by the time I came back around to see if I really needed anything from here, I already had +5 (or better) weapons; maybe the extra xp would have been nice, but I don't think a few g/margoyles would make a difference for my party...But even if you didn't get the dialogue right, this area has nothing crucial to your main quest, just a few +5 weapons and xp for killing some margoyles and gargoyles
