Help me!

Post by Kappe »

I cannot believe! I've lost all the things I've collected during the adventure. I try to explain (I'm italian so be patient with my language): all the weapons and all the armour and all the things I've collected during all the quests I used to leave what I don't need in a room at the Most Radiant Heart HQ (I'm a paladin) , they told me that no one can touch anything there! but surprise !
I've returned a few days later and all the weapons ,armour shields and piece of weapons were lost! What Can I do?
I've lost everything? where do you leave things that don't need now but maybe later?
Oh GOOOODDDDDD!

First of all, welcome to GameBanshee!

Did you leave them on the floor or in a container (chest, table, barrell, etc.)?

If you left them lying around on the floor, they will disappear after a couple of days. If you put them in containers, they will stay around for the entire game. I don't think quest items disappear, but magic items do.

I use Cernd's home in Waukeen's Promenade to store stuff. There are two cabinets, a box, a bag, and a barrell to store stuff.

I keep quest items in one, weapons and armour in another, magic items in a third, ammo (arrows, bolts, and sling bullets) in a fourth and scrolls & potions in the last one.

If you've left your things lying around, you will either need to load an old saved game (from back when you still had the things) or use CLUAConsole to create them.

You will need to edit the baldur.ini file in your BG2 directory. The default path (for English-version Windows98 SE) is C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA

Open the baldur.ini file with Notepad

Under [Program Options] type Debug Mode=1
This is case-sensitive

Save and close the baldur.ini file

Start BG2 and load your saved game

Hit Ctrl-Space

A line for text should appear at the bottom of the screen where the dialogue box normally is.

Type CLUAConsole:CreateItem("xxxxxxx") then hit enter
This is also case-sensitive, and the quotes are necessary

For the xxxxxxx you will need to get the Item Code from the BG2 Equipment Menu. Create all of the items you've lost. Note that the items will appear in the first open inventory slot available, and you will need to identify each item individually.

I don't want to cheat

Well, just pay the 7,500 gold to the temple of helm. Seems fair to me.
And why did you take off all your armour and weapons anyways?
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

There are one or two places that this doesn't hold true. For example, if you stash a bunch of stuff in Nalia's keep while doing the quest to rid it of trolls and then finish the quest I think everything disappears as the keep is recreated for the stronghold quests. Don't know if this happens elsewhere. I don't think it affects the planar sphere that way.
The reason this happens is that the map actually changes for some of the Strongholds in the game - such as Nalia's Keep and the theives' Stronghold.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Shadow Keeper

I can't figure out how to work Shadow Keeper for the life of me! I'm ok w/ computers, but i don't know why it won't let me open it. It says something about not being able to locate some of the ULD.files. I have no clue as to what ULD.files are. and I don't know what the EXE.files are either. it says something about making sure that the Kits.uld, Gender.uld, Race.uld, Class.uld, Alignment.uld, RacialEnemy.uld, NumAttacks.uld, Affects.uld, and Profs.uld are in the same directory as the editor's directory, and i don't know what any of this stuff is! ^-^;; If some very, incredibly nice person could help me w/ my problem, i would greatly apperciate it. :(

When you download Shadow Keeper, it comes as a .ZIP file - called ShadowKeeper.zip. Create a new folder - call it Shadow Keeper - somewhere and unzip everything in the zip file into that folder. When ever you want to run Shadow Keeper, just go to the folder you've created and double click on the ShadowKeeper.exe file - or you can make a shortcut to this file and use that instead. Hope that help.

uncle, this is the basis for my

getting the familar exploit to work right trick...

a old exploit, consists of getting familiar, then accepting a quest where the guy gives you items, and if you leave left top most slot open, and have your familiar tucked into that slot, your familar should drop out, decompose, and you can summon another one, and you keep the extra hp!!!

but others have reported they were able to pick up familar weeks later, and when tey tried to summon another one, they got "you already have familar..."

so my variant is to do all this, just before map change, and use 'enchant weapon" a seriously sucky spell, to bump out the critter, and the map change should give you extra hp and dispose of the little critter.

i never tried it, since I really like familars as pets...

reminds me, i wanna see if my rabbit gets upgraded in tob...

well, I rarely have familar, with me, but i feel like having one now...
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

I probably sound like a real idiot, but how do you unzip the files? If you can tell me that, then that would probably help a whole lot.

There is a Winzip software that would enable you to unzip. After that, you can follow, Sabre's instructions in this thread.
