ascension prob
i am playing with the ascension mod and, as far as i know, everything is done right but when i get to the abyssal throne, the conversations between irenicus and imoen and whatnot occur but there is no text in the dialogue box. how can i make the dialogue come back again. i know there are choices of things for me to say and I would like to be able to say them. any help would be greatly appreciated.
You've installed the mod incorrectly. As the ReadMe says, don't unzip the mod into your Override...it goes into your BG2 directory.
If you open up your Override, you will find two things: one, a second Override folder within it. Two, a dialog.tlk file...which contains the strings you are missing.
Move the dialog.tlk file from your Override up to the BG2 directory, replacing the dialog.tlk file there. Then your Ascension mod should work correctly and you will see the dialog.

I have an ascension problem as well. When I start a new game in ToB I only start with a single character (duh!), and the battle to come is just too darn hard! Of course if I use shadowkeeper to import handy items it gets easier, but as a sorcerer (the class I want to play) it's kinda impossible since he can't use the Reflection Shield, Illasera doesn't miss a lot of shots, and the misscast magic isn't that popular either. Is there a way to make this first battle easier somehow, with a party it would be a piece of cake but solo (Sorcerer)????
Well, that's not really an Ascension problem. Obviously, you've downloaded the Improved Illasera files...and that fight IS pretty difficult, especially for a solo character.Originally posted by Franke

It CAN be solo'd, but I'm not sure how one would go about it. I included with the files a warning that it may be too difficult except for full parties (whether or not it was put where you could see it depends on where you d'loaded it).
All I will say is that the Miscast Magic that comes with Illasera's dispel arrow is only 30% and doesn't get higher than that...some people think you can't cast magic at all, but that's not the case.
