Everyone who has ToB read this! (and also those who don't...[maybe])

Post by Locke Da'averan »

okay, i'm not sure if you all have noticed, but there is in fact an own forum for Baldur's Gate 2's addition Throne of Bhaal, reason why i'm telling you people this is because i see all the time threads like Watchers Keep/how to kill this/how to kill that, and those of us who don't have ToB aren't very happy(i know i'm not) that you people discuss your problems with ToB in the SoA forum you must've noticed there's an own forum for it, so why won't you people use it,
and more interesting question, how come Fable doesn't close these threads with a friendly reminder about the own forum for ToB, and why do members answer these questions, they should say, post it in the ToB thread and maybe you can get an answer or smth like that.

You may ask, why don't i simply ignore these threads, i do actually, but that's not the point, sometimes someone posts some thread that reveals some area in ToB in it's headline, and there is in fact (third time makes it come true  own thread for ToB)

I ain't angry, just pissed :D :D :D

I agree, but Watcher's Keep is available in both BG II and Throne of Bhaal - I would keep it in the BG II forum, so that when you have problems with it you don't have to check the Throne of Bhaal forum and, of course, read giveaway topics  for Throne of Bhaal (usually you play Throne of Bhaal àfter finishing Shadows of Amn - no spoilers there).

What I meant is, that when you have Throne of Bhaal installed it adds Watcher's Keep to the Shadows of Amn map, so you can choose to go there in Shadows of Amn or in Throne of Bhaal

Nah, Locke is right - Wacthers Keep is a ToB area. It might be accesable in SoA, but not without having ToB, thus topics about WK are spoilers to all that have the regular SoA only.
WK questions should be asked in the ToB forum only, yet most don't care much if they spoil something for someone else - they just want their questions asked.

And yes, I also think that the moderators should be more strict.

My best advise for you is to completely ignore these boards of you don't want any spoilers as somethings is always spoiled in a topic or two.

Also note that every "staffmember" here work for free, and it would take several hours every day to modify every single headline that might contain spoilers. I understand if they don't wish to use all their sparetime moderating possible spoilers.
Maybe we should have more moderators?

But still, most of these annoyances can be avoided if the regular poster just uses his head.

Ok, guys, I see your point. Besides, even if you can play Watcher's Keep in Shadows of Amn (with ToB installed), you'd only tackle that place at high level - as in waiting till you're in Throne of Bhaal before going to that place. Perhaps it's only when replaying Shadows of Amn with a high level character that going to Watcher's Keep makes sense (for the equipment). Either way, we should all agree on where to put the Watcher's Keep threads (and not have some in BG II SoA and others in BG II ToB). I suggest you take it up with Buck Satan and ask him to put it in ToB.

Nothing involving ToB should be in this forum, no topics on WK, no references to ToB events... there are two forums to avoid spoilers.

Topics involving ToB in here should be moved. Let Fable know of any.

Remember, we moderators aren't paid to fulfill their tasks. (Which isn't to say we're not happy to help out.) We drop in from time, look at threads, and do what's needed. But when we aren't on, anybody can slide in an inappropriate thread. That said, which ToB threads among SoA are currently annoying you, @Locke?

It also helps if you mention your lack of appreciation *kindly* to the person who has confused the two categories of SoA and ToB. Note, too, that double-posting threads in both SoA and ToB isn't allowed in any category.

Would renaming the ToB forum as the Watcher's Keep and ToB forum help?
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I know you people(moderators) do this without pay, sorry if it sound that i was lashing out on you, i'm not asking you to read all topics and decide whether they have something involved with ToB, just that the topics regarding something about ToB(thus having something to do with ToB in the posts also) are in SoA thread, why? not saying it's mod's fault(mebbe i said so, sowwy), i just don't get it why ppl post in the wrong forum...

there was one WK topic on when i posted this thread and now there's a topic smth like: "what are the possibilities to be evil in SoA/ToB... relatively harmless but there is in fact a forum for ToB so it shouldn't be discussed in here, why not post it solely to the ToB forum since i'm having hard time imagining a player who has completed ToB but not SoA..

me bad :(

The topic is general to BG2 and deals with playing "evil" in the main game, so it belongs in the SoA category.

actually, that post doesn't really have many TOB stuff in it. Also remember kids don't listen, unless you teach them slowly. You can't expect them to utilise their brains as well as us.

Come on guys, you're taking it too seriously. I know you're
"legally" right, but...
If you have ToB installed, you'll see the thing as a whole,
but still the main part is in SoA. And you can plan strategies
for ToB, that have to be started in SoA.
You should be more tolerant, I've seen minimal spoilers recently,
if you don't want them at all you should avoid all existing
forums.
Or just take your copy of ToB, it is a must for those who played
SoA! So the two forums will become one, as it should be!

Oh, I don't feel short-brained for seeing it this way....

If you look at the post times on this forum you will see that there is a new post every few minutes. In ToB there is a new post every few hours.

Would be nice if the forums were combined IMO.

That way people with ToB might get replies to their ToB questions.

If you want to avoid spoilers then do not read posts that say ***spoiler****

The only way to be 100% sure to avoid spoilers is to finish the game before surfing the net for game related info.
