Can't find keys

I have been unable to locate multiple keys including the dungeon keys on the 3rd floor of the catacombs and the key to the old rusty door in the bottom right corner of the Main halls. I looked on the map here for the location of the keys. the catacomb level is not posted yet - help? the other key location I went to, had been there and never got a key, Now What? Help..

Actually i had the same problem with those keys!
The Rusty keys is supposed to be found in a dwarwen chest, as far as i remember - it says so in the walkthrough. But the key was not to be found here - maybe this was a bug. So i never got to open this door.
About the keys in the catacoms - could you be more specific about what keys you need? I could not find keys as well (see earlier thread posted by me a while ago). I went back to the upper level and found another way down - to get to the other side of the locked doors - and found the keys here, except the Large Metal key.

About the Ancient Rusted Iron key for the main halls many people had the same bug, the key was not in the Ancient dwarven chest, it occuried to me as well. The second time i played it though the key was indeed inside the chest along with some other staff. Anyway the key just unlock an area where you can travel down to deep halls in an isolated area but there is nothing special to be found there and does not effect the plot of the game.

I went back to the upper level and found another way down - to get to the other side of the locked doors - and found the keys here, except the Large Metal key.

The large metal key is needed to the 2nd level of the catacombs and you can get it along the other missing key for that level once you travel through the portal from Beriand's tree down to the 2nd Cellar and free him.

old elven prison key

Thanks for all the help. It is good to know that the old rusty key is not needed the other key I am looking for is called THE OLD ELVEN PRISON KEY. It opens a gate in the Southeast corner of the map. Please help!!!

I also can't open the corroded metal locked door
I am convinced I am not supposed to thoughcause I got to that door by a bug in the system where I was ablre to go up a staircae through a wall.

I have just read all the posts and am coninced that there should be a family support group for POR players. It drives my wife crazy.

Seriously, please help with the keys, I think maybe the creature with the key fled combat with the key. Then what?? Aack.

The Old Elven Prison Key is held by a large group of freth drow that reside just a little north from the area that the locked door can be found.

The Corroded Metal Key is in possesion of the Arraccat mother to the south-west corner of the map, you have to fight a large number of all kinds of Arraccats inluding the Arraccat mother to get it.

old elven key continued

here is the problem. I have faught the monsters in the room to the north where I believe the old elven prison key should be and it is not there. Now What?

I am not a computer genius. some people have mentioned reloading the game. Wouldn't that erase my party, etc. If I wander around enough will I find a random group of drow guards that have it.
I believe that the person with the key fled from battle, now how do I get the key.

Help?

Do I need to get the old elven key to get the coroded key?

Maybe you are searching in a different room, the group of freth drow consists from several freth drow commandow led be a freth drow priest and it is not likely to find that group anywhere else.

I don't understand what you mean if you reload will erase your party??? . Reloadind and playing the battle again may correct the problem.

And yes you need the Old Elven Prison Key to get the Corroded Metal key.

Sorry - Is there a secret door I am missing to get to this group. I have cleared the entire 3rd floor except this area, hence killed all other groups.

No there is not a secret door there. it an area with 3 connected room north from the door that needs the key. My consern is that you wouldn't had missed it given the fact that you search the entire level and it just makes me think that a bug might have occuried. But i can't say for sure.

Still stuck

So I have tried everything for another week. This elven prison key that I am missing is not in the room that it was supposd to be in and I have saved my game passed this point already. Did I need to do something in a previous room to get the key? Do I have to be a certain level? Or do I just have to start over?

if I start over, how long would someone estimate it would take to get back to the catacombs and s there any guarantee this key would be there?

I've run out of anything else to say, so i'll ask this , do you have the v1.3 patch applied? I strongly believe that it is a bug since that key is found easily and unlocks a door near the area which you take it.

The walkthough is also complete for the game if you wan to take a look.

Just an idea but I have found items in Nottle inventory that i missed/didn't pick up or just missed cos of bugs as I applied patch 1.3 after starting.

You could try the other sellers to see if they hold stuff, Nottle, Ormmyrs or the dwarven ghost i can't remember.

Yes Nottle indeed sometimes sells items you have missed or did not pick up especially some minor keys of the game.
