a few questions

Post by Schwoebli »

hello

I played through the game with an undead hunter once (soa; tob with a sorceress). Now I am thinkink about playing it again using in both (soa + tob) the same char. But I am not sure about which char to choose and I have a few quesions (surprise :) ):
1. does the race of the pc still matter for the romances (tob installed)? are there any patches to solve this problem?
2. I really hate this anomen guy. He always tells me that he is fighting for the high society (I don't know the correct english word). But hey, I am fighting for the good ones, the poor and weak people. So if I would play a female char is there any way to make a romance with an npc of the same gender? (No, I am not sick!!! :D )
3. talking about weapon profiencies which combos do you prefer? I would like to dual wield. So I thought of take 2 of these: long sword, bastard sword (tob), hammer, flails.
4. can I backstab with any weapon usable by a thief? (without using the use any item skill)
5. I' ve seen the option to dual to a druid, does this make sense? anyone played a fighter or something else and then dualed to a druid? is it possible to dual a thief or mage to a druid?

1) Race matters but there is a patch making the romances available for all races.
2) I've heard of a patch for that, too. Maybe the same as mentioned above? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you could start a game as male, kick off the romances and then change your gender to female using SK.
3) I'd go for Long Swords and Flails.
4) All melee weapons usuable by a thief.
5) Only a Fighter is possible to dual to a Druid. It's a nice combo, I would dual at level 9.

thanks, maybe I ll try a berserker dualed at lvl 9 or 13 to a druid. because he can wear armors and also has a nice special ability (especialy against liches) speaking of liches does the ability of the kensai to make max damage for some time works against any enemy? I am also not sure if I should take the kensai instead of the berserker for roleplaying reasons. btw I need at least 15str and 17wis for dualing?

AFAIK the Kai ability works against all ennemies. Then again, some ennemies may be immune to the type of damage you're dishing out. RPG-wise, I would prefer a Berserker/Druid over a Kensai/Druid. A Berserker/Druid kind of makes sense IMO, given the savage animal-like personality of the Berserker. I have a hard time imagining a Kensai/Druid, though. Those stats are correct. I believe you may also need 14 or 15 in Charisma?

The Multi-Romance patch is on Sabre's site. I don't have the link handy, but look around into some other topics and the link is in his sig.

Try a Ranger/Cleric (dual), Fighter/Druid (dual), Fighter/Mage (not Kensai), Mage/Cleric (multi), or plain thief or Ranger.

Ranger/Cleric:
-get both cleric and druid spells

Fighter/Druid:
-reasons above

Fighter/Mage:
-Ability to wear elvish armour, with Stoneskin.

Mage/Cleric:
-add Robe of Vecna; it helps the cleric spells too!

Thief:
-if you like to backstab and get the Use Any Item.

But I think you should try:
Ranger
-dual weilds easily
-equip with Flail of Ages and Crom faeyr/Axe of unyeilding.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
