Hell problem

Post by Delita »

SPOILERS

Okay I'm playing a Cavalier. In the "Selfish" test in hell I have to choose becoming a fallen paladin or lose some stats. The health is returned with the bonus from the Tear but I still lose a point of Dex.

My stats were orignially:
18/00 str
18 dex
18 con
9 int(lose one point during the Spellhold dream)
14 wis(plus one with tear)
18 cha(plus one with tear)

Should I give up the dex? Can I redeem my paladin status later?

A fallen paladin is nothing more than a sub-par fighter, IMO you really dont have a choice here. Also when you do watchers keep youll recover the lost point of dex.

Ah, there is a way around this. Simple haste (or put the boots of speed on) the person the Demon imprisons, before the demon casts hold on it. If your quick and the person opens the door in time, you don't have to lose any stats, as well as your alignment stays the same.

Just to let you know, you can also do another trick with the demon (I think it's Greed), that you choose between killing the Genie (Although your alignment changes evil, but you keep Blackrazor) or giving it Blackrazor (So your alignment stays). The way around this to get Blackrazor without having your alignment change is simple. Pickpocket the Tears of Bhaal from it.

But first reload, you don;t want to finish the game as an fallen paladin.

Only take the good paths in hell or else you'll become fallen.

I believe that if you're NPC dies, you could ressurect him BTW
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Hmm I killed the genie and I didn't become a fallen paladin or anything.

Also do you get penalties for taking the Nymph cloak from the demon? I didn't get anything bad after I took and wore it.

It must be a bug or something, because it at least is suppose to turn your alignment evil if you kill the genie or take the Nymph Cloak.

Isn't the alignment change supposed to happen after you use the tears? Don't know for sure though!
Guinness is good for you.
Gives you strength.

I killed Irenicus and went on to BG2, no alignment change or anything.

Casius- It doesn't work. There's 3 doors and there's no way to do it before he holds the person.

Plus I casted Time Stop and opened all of the doors. I still took penalties when I looked at my character screen.

It does work. If you start him running not more then a second later then when the demon teleports him, you should make it.
