Umber Hulk Cave problems

Post by Hugger »

Hiyas,
Well, i killed all the umber hulk and rhino beatles in the area with the Svirfneblin, but i didn't get into any caves or anything.... now there are no umber hulks spawning... am i locked out of that area now and if so, am i hopelessly messed up?

Thanks for help!

Did you go all the way to the top of the map then move to the right? There is a trigger line one of your party members needs to cross here which causes a bunch more Umber Hulks to spawn. Once you've killed them, you can go through the cave entrances that appear behind them.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Thanks for reply, i tried to find trigger point, with no luck, crawled all around area i could get too, hehe. no more hulkies want to play with me, hehe, maybe a loc or something, but not sure i can trigger it.
If i did trigger it, before, and didn't go through, would it close (or has it closed, hehe)
ALso, if it is untriggerable, the other part of my question, is it a necessary area for finishing game? or can i go on and now worry about it. Or am i heading back to a previous save, ;)
THanks again!

No, once it's open, it stays open. I don't think the area is essential to the plot, but you'd be missing out on some goodies, not to mention another safe place to rest and a priest who can heal your party members. Did you bring Tarnelm some food? I just remembered you need to do that before the Umber Hulks & cave entrances show up.
