High lvl BG2 start

Post by BlackBreeze »

Hmm, just found out that a character created and exported under TOB comes up with high levels (my whole party is around lvl18) when starting a new SOA game. Is that right?? I knew that a new char for a new TOB game would start at a high lvl but also when starting a new SOA game?

No, SOA characters should start at 7-9th level even with TOB installed.

When youre dualing your mage that way you dont have to level mage from 1 to 20... start ToB and dual your character right away then import it to SoA and your character regains all his abilities of his former class. now youve got yourself a Kensai 19/ Mage 20 character without really doing anything.. but dont be too happy... that one dwarf in seven dales has about 350 hp i think... that one orcslicer dude with cursed berserking sword has Thac0 of -5 or less...

i tried this with a kensai/thief once... bad experience... i tried backstabbing the dwarf at modifier of times 5 w/ carsomyr(1d12+5 i believe) and had five stars in two handed swords w/ 23 str(potion)... the dwarf survived 150+ damage....WOW shortly after, my character turned into pile of well-processed gore by mr. orcslicer (im not an orc!)
BAH. I wish you all well on this relatively good day.

I can't remember someone that's can survive a 150+ hit in SOA, is it that guy from limited wish quest, or the one in waukeem promenade?

It's Mencar

I'm guessing its Mencar Pebblecrusher, upstairs in the Inn in Waukeen's Promenade. That party can be a pretty tough fight, but the loot is very nice. Pets can help a lot - I think I had three pets keep him busy while I killed the rest of his party.
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.
