Big Problem...

Post by Foxtrot »

I tried to make a new SoA game today and got this message after the game crashed:

An Assertion failed in InfGame.cpp at line number 6351

What the heck does that mean???

I have the add on for the two new merchants and some items I put into my last game with Infinity Research Engine. I am still able to open games I have been playing prior to today. I just can't create a new game. Any ideas on what is wrong? I have never played online or put stuff into the game besides what I have mentioned above, IRE items and the extra merchants.

Thanks

I have been searching the net like crazy to find an answer to my problem. I have deleted the suggested files in the cache, temp and tempsave folders. Still won't let me create a new game. I have not found any leads on what the 'line number 6351' refers to or how to fix it. This is a drag.

Have you tried to unistall/reinstall the game again?

Ugh...nope, not as yet. I was hoping that there was a simple answer to this mess. I had so much trouble getting the game to install in the first place I hate to face the chore again. I use a Macintosh so I do believe it will be somewhat easier for me to locate all the files I need to uninstall. Thank you very much for responding to my post Demis. Guess I will have to bite the bullet and start from scratch.

I don't know much about Macintosh so i can't be of much help :) , but if anything else fails reinstalling the game might fix your problem. Or you can wait to get some more replys from other that know better.

Did you try to contact the developers for support?
A CPP file is a C++ programming language source file, thus I guess it might be a damaged exe or dll file.
Did you try reinstalling the official patch?
If all fails, you may try a compact install. It will be much faster and maybe it will integrate with your current install.

Good luck
