cleric and potion of insight

Post by havanf »

1) if i'm a cleric with wis 17 and use potion of insight - do i get access to wis 18 spells or is the duration too short (6 hours) and rest is 8 hours (to reget spells) to be effective

2) are there any irtems (other than potions and wands) that bring your wisdom up

3) if i'm a gnome thief/cleric - is there any way to get a permanent wis 18 (i'm playing as a half-orc thief/cleric currently)

thansk in advance

You can't get extra spells this way. You'll have to gain them the level up way. :)

If you are about to level up soon for sure, knock back potions that increase your wisdom, so that when you do level up, you have that wisdom. For deciding how many spells you get, it takes your wisdom from your level up. Or so I have been led to believe.

I believe there are several items that will increase your wisdom. I know of one for sure, and thats an amulet you buy from a bonus merchant in the Adven. Mart.
Minor spoilers

In ToB, there is an ioun stone that raises it by one, and a machine in a quest that will raise it one.
In TDD, a reward to a quest is to get one ability score increased by one.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

What Amulet?

The Sensate Amulet does not raise Wisdom - it raises Cha, Hitpoints, and Prot Evil - nothing more.

I've not seen one thing in the game that raises wisdom.

There is an axe, sold by one of the bonus merchant, that raises wisdom by 1.
Unfortunatly a cleric can't use it.

rob and obsidean,

if you raise wis dom befoer levelup with balderdash patches and tob installed, it does NOT work.

confirmed. rob, you CAN get extra spells using potions of insight, but not wort it. have minsc drink a potion, add the spells in extra spell slots, then use wish rest party to get the spells!!! I posted this expoit a while back.

but hardly seems worth it, minsc is limited to level 4 spells, and the only one worth keeping is armor of faith, which stacks with hardiness.

if minsc and keldy can get elvel 5 speels, then they are worth this exploit for righteous magic, turns any fighter into pure killing machine unlike anything you have seen, obscene thaco and strenth...
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!
