Pickpocket Bug...

Post by Doc »

My thief has an obscenely high pickpocket ability, but everytime she tries to pilfer, she gets caught. Yet whenever Nalia gets buffed up on potions she's able to rob people blind. Is there a bug with extremely high pickpocketing?

No matter how much you have in pickpocketing there will always be a chance of you getting caught.

What is your pickpocket ability at? about 200 is a sure bet at stealing.

I think Dex and some other factors may have an affect on this

No, it's EVERY time, with the exception of stealing from Ribold, but I think that's only because you're half expected to steal from him. Maybe I should clarify too, what I really mean is stealing from merchants, any merchants. She always gets caught. I should probably point out too that I used ShadowKeeper to buff up her stats. Her ability, with a couple level ups, is now well over 200.

Are you sure you have your thief's character portrait selected when you do the stealing from stores?

Do not exceed 200 in Pickpockets - once you do that, the ability begins to "wrap around", causing it to fail more often again.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Thanks sojourner. I suspected there was something to that effect. I guess that's what I get for cheating.
