Character status

Post by Ferdinand »

Ok, this is my stalker's stats:

ST: 18/88
DEX 18
CON: 18
INT: 14
WIS: 16
CHR: 10

Is it great or should I reroll the dice again? :(

You could roll again if you want to get your charisma up, but it's not really essential. Otherwise your stats are fine.
Have fun with your stalker, I sure did!

u dont really need the STR imo. 18/88 is decent but not that great, and there is the 19STR belt anyway.

do NOT reroll, i dunno how long u rolled for this but it is absolutely great. but prolly get WIS and CHA 18 while decreasing INT to ~10 and STR as far as needed...depends, if u want an NPC to use the belt, leave STR, but imo u really dont need 14 INT, better put it to WIS and CHA.

wow..you're really proud of those stats ;) ...BTW it's 'stats', not 'status'..stats short for statistics.
If I were you I would take 1 off INT, one off STR and 4 off WIS and put them in Charisma...I know you get the Ring of Human Influence very early, but there are loads of better rings for a stalker, and you'll feel like it's a waste of a ring slot...also WIS is completely useless. It will save you about 2000 GP through the course of the game if you've got a high WIS, but that's nothing compared to what you can have with a high CHA...What weapon profs are you gonna have? That could decide wether you need all that strength as well.

Thx for reply. ;) I was thinking of putting 3 prof. slots in dual wielding, 1 in longswords, 2 in katanas and 2 in longbow... So, any suggestions? :D Is it a good choise? Also as I level up where should I put prof. slots?

hmmm...yeah, souns like a good choice...I'd go for it in Katanas first, then Dual Wield, then Long Bow and then whatever...Dual wielding Katanas will be lethal in ToB, you get some mean ones...I'm not so keen on Longswords though...am I missing something, or is the Equalizer the only even half-decent one?

Is it worth the wait? It'd be great for dual wielding, do you know how the Thac0 stacks with prof points and dual wield?

I have three games at the moment. In one of those I am powerplaying,
the char comes from BG1, used all tomes, and now I'm halfway through
ToB with these stats (never cheated):

20 ,19, 17, 20, 18, 12

In another I have a priest of Lathander with 8 St, 10 Con,
I have only a good wisdom!
Guess it!! This one is SOOOO much fun!!!!!!
Don't bother too much with stats.... ;)

ahhh of course. It slipped my mind...take some more off STR then...anyway, even though I can see this thread might start getting clogged up with 'nah nah nah I've got 18 in every Stat', I thought I might ask a question...do you think that it is 'honourable' to roll the dice and play the game to get 18 in every stat apart from one, but 'dishonourable' just to save time and SK all your stats to that level at the beginning?

i dont really like having a bow beside dual-wielding. valygar also comes with ++ in longbow i think, but i always have to change weapons manually and thats so annoying...
how many points do u get initially? imo, get ++ in katana, longsword and dual-wield, and if u have a point left get +++ in dual. later u could get maces or flails if u want, even warhammers depending on ur NPC choice.

btw my best stats was 30 (90 total), and my other chars r 27 and 28 i think. maybe i'm just impatient.

Well, if I would use SK I would have a feeling of guilty through the game and that would torment me...

Well, you're probably right. ;) Why should I bother, when I can easily modify my stats with SK, and the goal is acomplished. I have started a new game and rolled my stats to:

ST: 18/00
DEX: 18
CON: 18
INT: 7
WIS: 14
CHAR: 18

But then I used SK to increase my INT to 15 (I don't want a stupid protagonist, although it doesn't matter much for a stalker) and WIS to 15 to have better lore. Is it too cheesy?? :)

And BTW I have became an exalted member and I'm really proud! ;)

Will my gaming experience be spoiled and will the game be too easy??

If you're going to hack your stats, wouldn't it be easier to use the "control + 8" when you're rolling your stats and just cut a few down?
