Thief -> Assassin in BG2 - both fun and challenging
Bard -> Blade in BG2 - also fun and challenging
Ranger -> Archer in BG2
Paladin -> any kit in BG2
Cleric -> Priest of Lathander in BG2 - blow up Undead
Fighter -> Kensai-mage in BG2 - very powerful

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

So far I've soloed a Bard, and a Mage/Thief through BG but never was able to beat Sarevok. I'm thinking of trying a Illusionist/Thief sometime in the near future. And I tried soloing in BG 2 and it was really tough just to get out of the dungeons alone. Good luck.

A bard would be really hard but I'm leaning toward it Saevarok and other tuff battles going to be killer if I go with that.
