I don't know if you guy's have visited lately the IWD II site at blackisle, but i just read the new feat section they added. It's all 3E rules, well they have added some feat, which is nice, so you can sort of customise you character(s) the way you want to, but, they have also added saving roles, WILL, REF and FORT save, for those of you how do roleplay pnp, pretty good. So now a fighter does need a good wisdom and maybe the feat. "iron will" if he want to avoid always getting charmed or confused.
If you have not seen it yet, go visit it, it's worth it.

I think that this is going to be great! I was always a big fan of intelligence being required for skilled fighting. Without intelligence, one is just an orc or a goblin, but with intelligence comes skill and cunning. Specialization should not be allowed unless the character has a certain level of intelligence. I also don't think that a mindless character should be able to use alot of the special maneuvers that they are including. But, that's just me...

Most of the feats were implemented in PoR but the frustrating thing was that you didn't get the chance to choose what feat you wanted (if you had the prerequisites) and most of the times your character was given a not-very useable feat. I have read the feats for IWD2 but i didn't see anywhere that you get a chance to choose your feats. Did i missed it? or we don't know for sure yet?

Buck posted some spiel about feats in the IWD page here, taken from the IWD2 site - it mentions any character "class" chosing any feats.

Well, if they do stick with 3E rules, then as you go up levels, you should be able to choose feats. One a 1st level, then 3rd, and so on.....Originally posted by Demis

Another thing i did not see is if races have favorite classes.
Elves have wizard, dwarves have fighter, and so on.
the only races that don't have favorite class are humans and half-elves.

As for the favourite classes i don't know if they will include that but i think it will be better to do so. Having favourite classes means that we have to plan the characters better and choose races that most of us didn't normaly do in 2d. Also i think the primary class for Humans and Half-elves is also considered their favourite.

I was not impressed with POR2. I thought that no time at all was put into a plot for the game. I also think that they didn't give much thought to implementing the game rules. I have not found this to be the case with any BIS game however. They always do a great job and make an enjoyable game. I for one will trust them to make a good game and to use the rules properly and in a sensible manner.
