What is a 'Guest'?
Just wondering. I assumed guests were browsers, unregistered lurkers? The reason I ask, is on a couple of occasions when I have checked who is online, I have seen a 'guest' using 'User CP' and today I saw a guest using the private messaging system. Is there a delay between being a 'guest' and an acknowledged registered member that affords these actions? or is a 'guest' not always a guest?

Hmm... I'm not really sure why it would show "Guest" as being online. With the new alter-ego rule, I have been deleting quite a few usernames from the database that people have emailed me about. When I delete a username, all of that user's old posts become posted by "Guest", so maybe it's related to what you're seeing.

Aha! that might explain it then - thanks Since I saw a guest performing moderator duties yesterday too!Originally posted by Tamerlane
I'd say guests are unregistered browsers. As for the activites, I tend to delete my cookies. So its not uncommon for me to sometimes try to write a PM, whilst being unaware of the fact that I haven't logged in.

I guess this depends, I'm invisible right now and there is no one showing up in the Gamebanshee Discussion Forum. I have hit reload 5 times and still no body.Originally posted by Aegis
Also, the board recognizes you as a guest if you decide to log on in invisible mode.
