Escaping the Asylum

Well, I already beat SoA once, but I have this stupid problem now, and I think I might had the same problem in my first game.
I did all the asylum things, talked to Saemon, freed the loonies, beat Irenicus, killed his assasins, but now when I go to the "Exit Room", I cant find a way out in the room... My cursor never changes to a door or stairs or anything like that...

Can anybody help me?

Do you have the key? Otherwise you'll find it in Irenicus' room. But if you go straight to Underdark you'll miss out on the Sahuagin City. Haven't you met Saemon in the hallway, asking you to accompany him?

With the exit I ment where Saemon is after I get those tests,
the exit where you go back to Brynnlaw or whatever its called

You should find out and talk to Saemon once more. Then he'll teleport you outside.
