Weapon Proficiencies of different classes

Can anyone tell me what are the weapon proficiencies advancement for the different classes?

I mean how many level must a fighter advance before he gets another star to place in his proficiency? What about Clerics, Thieves and mages?

I need to know about mages, coz I am playing a Kensai mage and I messed up by selecting Dart proficient, which I can't use.

Thanx Sabre, I also check some AD&D site, yah, a slot for every six mage levels.

I dualed to mage at level 13 Kensai, so being a mage, I get one slot at level 1, i put it to dagger, at level 6, I receive another slot which I allocated to staff, while at level 12 mage, I got another slot, which leaves dart or sling, which both are unuseable when I reactivate the Kensai.

So it's just natural, I worry too much.

Now I receive another slot, I will put to longswords, many good longswords in TOB.

Thats why you should level straight from level 11 to level 14 mage and that way you can put the proficiency slot anywhere you like it, but it doesn't matter much really.

Do you mean that do not click on the level up button until you are level 14, although you had already gained a level?

Yeah that is what I mean. Ofcourse you need to know the exp table to do this and possibly also have someone other than yourself in the party.
