Post by Alvin »

Hey all

I've been a lurker here for some time.

I'm startin my first solo game here and I need some advice.
I'm goin to play a multi Fighter/Thief/Mage.
I'm goin to install BGII and TOB again and need to know wich patches to use and in wich order to install.

Thx Alvin

Sorry no tech advice here, I posses none of that. I also recently started a solo game for the first time but never considered a multiclass, as I thought it would be no fun as you can't specialise, or get any cool 'moves'. I chose a monk instead, the only problem so far is not being able to open locked doors and hitting the exp cap reaaaal fast (took that off with a patch) otherwise I highly recommend it. The jack of all trades just doesn't appeal to me but you would be able to all the quests i guess, removing armour all the time could get annoying (as you can't remove it in battle), a thief + something else or dual classing seems like more logical way to go, but thats just me.

Good luck soloer

Install SoA, then ToB, then the official ToB patch. Then you'll want to do the baldurdash fixes (though at least 1 of those -- the improved invis "fix"-- actually breaks something which was really working correctly). You might want to stop there patchwise for soloing.
